Botox
Botox is a cosmetic treatment that uses botulinum toxin to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause frown lines and other facial wrinkles. Botox reduces the look of dynamic lines and wrinkles, giving you a smoother and more youthful appearance. Botox can also be used to help prevent fine lines from becoming deep-set wrinkles in the face. It is recommended that Botox treatments be started at an early age to avoid permanent lines and wrinkles that would require different treatment options in the future, such as fillers or laser treatment.

Botox is an FDA-approved low-risk treatment. Botox injections are usually safe when you work with an experienced, credentialed provider, but some side effects include pain, swelling, redness or bruising at the injection site, flu-like symptoms, headache, nausea, temporary facial weakness or drooping. Adverse or allergic reactions to Botox are rare. Patients should not receive Botox if they are allergic to any of the ingredients in Botox, or have had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product.
